TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT (FPL GAMEWEEK 14)

This is a review of player recommendations you may not have considered for your FPL squad. And here are Differential’s player recommendations for Gameweek 14.

GK : Bart Verbruggen (4.4 – 4.3 %)

I rarely give goalkeeper recommendations, but this time I want to include Verbruggen in this list, especially for those who want to replace an injured goalkeeper or one who has received 4 yellow cards.

Since Gameweek 10, he has made 10 saves, with 3 saves in each of the last two Gameweeks. He also recorded 3 clean sheets in those four Gameweeks and made a penalty save against Brentford. Brighton are certainly not an easy opponent now, considering they also managed a clean sheet against Palace at home.

Next Opponents : Aston Villa, Westham, Liverpool.

Mid : Kiernan Dewsburry Hall (4.9 – 3.6%)

Looking for players who can score goals and assists and combine them with Defcon and BPS points?

KDH has recorded 2 goals and 1 assist from his last 3 GW appearances and has also recorded Defcon points twice. With a 1.4 xG from 4.1 xGI and also creating 2.7 xGA throughout this season, KDH is slowly finding his best form at Everton, making him a far more impressive asset than Ndiaye in recent matches. With Ndiaye and Idrissa Gana Gueye set to be absent while representing their countries at the Africa Cup of Nations, KDH will be a key part of Everton’s attack alongside Grealish and Garner.

Next Opponents : Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, Chelsea

Mid : Pedro Neto (7.2 – 7.7%)

Since gameweek 8, Pedro Neto has scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists, with all of his goals coming against two promoted teams and two teams with the worst defensive records.

A visit to Leeds could be the next stage for Pedro Neto to add to his goal and assist tally this season, given his xGI stands at 5.0 so far this season, with an xG of 2.6 and an xGA of 2.4.

If Chelsea are looking to replace assets like Enzo and Joped, Pedro Neto is the right player for the job at the moment, while waiting for the final piece to return to action (Cole Palmer).

Next Opponents : Leeds, Bournemouth, Everton.

FWD : Callum Wilson (5.8 – 0.8%)

Since being entrusted with a starting spot in GW 9, Callum Wilson has scored three goals so far. An impressive record from the former Newcastle player.

This record not only shows his quality, but also his confidence in returning to being a predator in the penalty box. It will be interesting to see him test Manchester United’s defence, which is improving but still inconsistent.

Next Opponents : Manchester United, Brighton, Aston Villa

TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT! (FPL GAMEWEEK 9)

This is a review of player recommendations you may not have considered for your FPL squad. Here are differential’s player recommendations for Gameweek 9.

Defender: Kieran Trippier (5.0 – 2.7%)

Newcastle is the team with the best defence in the Premier League this season. However, that is not the reason Trippier is on this list.

Trippier is Newcastle’s set-piece specialist. He has also provided 12 key passes to his teammates this season. With Newcastle’s new playing style, Trippier will be an intriguing asset for the club moving forward.

Next Opponents: Fulham, West Ham, Brentford

Defender : Reece James (5.5 – 6.2%)

Many have forgotten that James is one of England’s most complete wing-backs at the moment. He can score goals and provide assists, has a strong defence and still has a lot to offer the team when he is fit.

This season, he has scored one goal and provided three assists, with four shots on target and 11 key passes to his teammates.

Just like last week when I recommended Chalobah, Chelsea’s schedule is worth considering when recruiting the captain for your team.

Next Opponents: Sunderland, Tottenham, Wolverhampton

Midfielder : Bruno Guimaraes (6.5 – 2.4%)

Newcastle always perform well when playing at home, with their attack line able to perform more sharply than usual. Bruno Guimaraes may not be the ideal asset to choose from Newcastle, but he often makes the difference for Newcastle when the front line is deadlocked.

Against Fulham this week, it looks like Bruno will once again make the difference, given that Fulham score more goals from the second line, where Bruno often operates when Newcastle are on the attack.

Next Opponents: Fulham, West Ham, Brentford

Forward : Danny Welbeck (6.3 – 3.4%)

Although he is not a regular starter for Brighton, Welbeck’s statistics this season are quite promising. He has recorded 9 shots, 5 shots on target, created 5 key passes for his teammates, and has scored 4 goals for Brighton.

Against MU, who have conceded 6 goals from Welbeck so far, he is clearly a tempting choice to pass up.

Next Opponents: Manchester United, Leeds United, Crystal Palace

That was the recommendation for differential players for Gameweek 9.

TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT! (FPL GAMEWEEK 8)

This is a review of player recommendations you may not have considered for your FPL squad. Here are the Differential player recommendations for Gameweek 8.

Defender: Trevoh Chalobah (5.1 – 7.4%)

2 goals, 52 defensive contributions, and 1 assist are impressive statistics that Chalobah has achieved so far this season.

Given his position as a defender, his attacking contributions so far are quite high. With an FPL ownership rate of just 7.4% and a relatively easy schedule for Chelsea, he is one of the players worth considering as a differential player in your squad at the moment.

Next opponents: Nottingham Forest, Sunderland, Tottenham

Midfielder: Sean Longstaff (4.9 – 0.7%)

Sean Longstaff has created 12 chances and taken 6 shots in recent matches. He has also taken over set pieces from Stach, taking 11 corners in his last two matches since his return. One goal and one assist in the match against Bournemouth complete his impressive record so far, and he will face Burnley in gameweek 8

Next opponents: Burnley, West Ham, Brighton

Midfielder: Yankuba Minteh (6.0 – 3.5%)

1 Defcon point, 1 goal, and 2 assists from his last 5 matches are impressive statistics for Yankuba Minteh. He has also recorded 1.6 xG and 1.2 xA from 2.8 xGI so far this season.

He has also consistently played over 60 minutes so far this season, demonstrating his vital role for a manager who rotates his squad quite frequently.

Next opponents: Newcastle, Manchester United, Leeds

FWD: Igor Thiago (6.1 – 3.5 %)

With 2.7 xG from 2.9 xGI so far this season, Igor Thiago has scored four goals for Brentford in the Premier League.

With Mbeumo and Wissa having moved to new clubs at the start of the season, Igor has been successful in continuing Brentford’s sharp attacking streak so far.

Next opponents: West Ham, Liverpool, Crystal Palace

Here are the differential player recommendations for Gameweek 8.

TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT (FPL GAMEWEEK 7)

This is a review of player recommendations you may not have considered for your FPL squad. Here are the Differential player recommendations for Gameweek 7.

Midfielder: Declan Rice (6.5 – 8.3%)

Three assists from six Premier League matches this season, all from corner kicks. Declan Rice’s presence as one of the free-kick takers is the main reason why Arsenal are so dangerous in set-piece situations.

Facing West Ham, who seem to still struggle in set-piece situations, will be a significant advantage for those who have Declan Rice in their squad.

Next opponents: West Ham, Fulham, Crystal Palace

Midfielder: Jaidon Anthony (5.7 – 5.4%)

With an xGI of 0.47 and an expected goals (xG) of 0.37, Anthony has scored four goals this season, failing to score only against Spurs and Liverpool. In the last match, Donnarumma was the victim of his goal, which prevented Manchester City from keeping a clean sheet.

Anthony is currently second only to Haaland in the top scorers list (8), with Semenyo and Thiago having the same number of goals as him.

Next opponents: Aston Villa, Leeds, Wolves

Midfielder: Ismaila Sarr (6.4 – 4.4%)

Despite missing Gameweeks 4 and 5, Sarr did not lose his sharpness upon returning last weekend against league leaders Liverpool.

With an xGI of 0.77 and an expected goals (xG) of 0.72, Sarr has scored in his last three matches and has netted three goals so far this season. He has only failed to score once, in a goalless draw against Chelsea.

Next opponents: Everton, Bournemouth, Arsenal

FWD: Jarrod Bowen (7.7 – 6.4%)

With three goals in his last four matches, Bowen has proven he is not done yet despite West Ham’s poor start to the season, which led to Graham Potter’s dismissal last week.

With 3 goals from just 0.8 xG, there is hope for the future, as West Ham’s new manager is skilled at playing quick counter-attacks that could maximise Bowen’s potential on the pitch.

Next opponents: Arsenal, Brentford, Leeds

TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT (FPL GAMEWEEK 5)

This is a review of players you may not have considered for your FPL squad. Here are our recommendations for standout players in Gameweek 5.

GK: Robin Roefs (4.5 – 1.9%)

It’s no surprise that his name tops this list. With 27 points, he’s just 2 points behind Vicario at the top of the goalkeeper standings so far this season.

With a high expected goals conceded (xGC) of 1.13, Roefs has only conceded 3 goals against Burnley in Gameweek 2 and Brentford in Gameweek 3. He has also made 13 saves in his first 4 Premier League matches. Not only that, Roefs has also earned 2 clean sheets and made 1 penalty save.

Next opponents: Aston Villa, N. Forrest, & MU.

DEF: Tyrone Mings (4.5 – 1.4%)

Villa may be a team struggling to score goals, but they have been impressive at the back. They have recorded 2 clean sheets in their first 4 GW.

Mings is an intriguing player with an expected goals conceded (xGC) of 1.85, having secured 1 defensive point and a clean sheet against Everton.

Next 3 GW: Sunderland, Fulham, Burnley.

MID: Lucas Bergvall (5.4 – 0.3%)

Although not always the first choice, he has gradually become reliable for Thomas Frank in the last two Spurs matches.

Against West Ham and Villarreal, Bergvall was the main protagonist with 1 goal & 1 assist + 1 own goal caused by Luiz Junior against Villarreal.

This is a positive note considering Thomas Frank is still searching for the ideal composition of the current Spurs squad.

Next opponents: Brighton, Wolves, Leeds.

FWD: Nick Woltemade (7.0 – 2.7%)

This tall figure might be a good fit for Newcastle, considering how Newcastle has Jacob Murphy, who since the start of last season has only been surpassed by Mohamed Salah (19) in terms of total crosses (12) from open play situations.

With good positioning, his solitary goal against Wolves seemed like an epic welcome message for FPL managers.

Next opponents: Bournemouth, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest.

There you have it the standout player recommendations for Gameweek 5.

Navigating Fixture Swings in FPL Without Playing Your Wildcard

Playing your wildcard in FPL can be tempting when your players don’t have favourable fixtures. But what if you want to navigate tough fixtures without using your wildcard chip? FPL Pitch shares how.

Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers often face the dilemma of how to tackle challenging fixture swings without resorting to playing their precious wildcard. While the wildcard can be a powerful tool, saving it for later in the season or for emergencies is a prudent strategy. Here are some key tips to target fixture swings effectively without hitting that reset button:

1. Plan Transfers Strategically: Before the fixture swing begins, analyze your team’s upcoming opponents. Identify which players have favorable fixtures and which ones don’t. Consider transferring out underperforming or poorly fixture-affected players for those with better matchups.

2. Prioritize Premium Assets: Premium players, like the top-scoring forwards and midfielders, often perform consistently even against tough opponents. Keep faith in your premium assets during difficult fixtures as they can still deliver valuable points.

3. Utilize Bench Players: Your bench players can be valuable differentials during fixture swings. Rotate in budget-friendly players who have favorable matchups. This can free up funds for strengthening your starting lineup.

4. Monitor Player Form: Keep a close eye on player form. A player in great form can outperform their fixtures. Conversely, a player out of form may struggle even against weaker opponents. Be ready to make transfers based on current player form.

5. Consider Formations: Experiment with different formations to adapt to fixture swings. A more defensive setup (e.g., 4-5-1 or 4-4-2) can help you weather tough fixtures, while an aggressive one (e.g., 3-4-3) can maximize points during favorable runs.

6. Don’t Panic: FPL is a long game. Avoid knee-jerk reactions to a few bad gameweeks. Staying patient and sticking to your strategy can yield better results over the course of the season.

7. Use Chips Wisely: Save your chips, such as Bench Boost and Triple Captain, for optimal moments later in the season. These can provide significant point differentials when used strategically.

In conclusion, navigating fixture swings without playing your wildcard in FPL requires careful planning, patience, and a keen eye for player form and matchups. By following these tips, you can make the most of your team even when facing a challenging run of fixtures.
