Tipster Gilbert previews the upcoming double gameweek 27 in MLS Fantasy and shares his thoughts on why Montreal and SKC are being overlooked this week.
I want to apologize. Why am I writing this now? Hopefully, I want to be consistent with my articles. And in this article, I want to discuss an interesting review about MLS Fantasy for this gameweek plus the upcoming double gameweek. The current top picks for this DGW are Puig, Gil, and Arango.
LAFC Enters Playoffs
Will you come back to this game later? Not necessarily. They proved themselves against Dallas FC and came close to winning with 10 men but were unlucky to win the game. From this team, we can monitor several players, such as Cristian Arango ($12.1M). With 16 goals and four assists, he can fill in for Vela’s absence, no problem. Although still assisted by one of the greatest prophets in Mexico, Carlos Vela ($9.2M), their attacks had little effect. And today, LAFC remains one of the most prolific attacks for this gameweek with the most goals scored in the league after Philadelphia Union and Austin FC.
What are the Chances of SKC and Montreal keeping Cleansheets?
Considering there will be many double gameweek matches, Montreal and SKC are pretty unique. No one would’ve guessed that Romell Quioto ($10.9M) would be such a prolific player. Besides that, the return of Victor Wanyama ($7.8M) is very influential with the rhythm of his game which is quite unique. Similar to SKC, William Agada ($9.3M) will face two teams which tend to concede a lot and with Salloi’s return, will this be the match his owners in MLS Fantasy waited for?
Yes, this is the review I share for this double gameweek. Of course, you might wonder if this match has an impact at this point, or not. Depending on the match later.
Getting into the playoffs is a challenge for Atlanta United but not impossible, and with the return of Lennon as well as Almada, tipster Gilbert believes that they can put up a strong fight in their final push for a playoff spot starting with DC United in his MLS Fantasy gameweek 24 preview.
In this article, we will give you a minimal preview of the best players that will help you get points. Our MLS Fantasy player picks for gameweek 24 are as follows:
Brooks Lennon (ATL)
Lennon is back. He played his first 90 minutes since Gameweek 14 against Columbus, assisting one goal and finishing on eight points in MLS Fantasy. This week he is up against a DC United side who have lost five straight games and conceded six times against Philadelphia last week.
Emanuel Reynoso (MNU)
In his last eight appearances, Reynoso has only scored less than seven points once. During that time, he has scored seven goals and assisted another five.
William Agada (SKC)
Despite only playing above 70+ minutes in four games, Agada has scored five goals and provided one assist. He faces an Earthquakes side that has conceded seven times in their last two away games.
Thiago Almada (ATL)
Another ATL player back, Almada should have no problem carving out DC United this weekend. We know he is full of talent and set-pieces only add to his potential for points. I’m surprised he is only owned by 5% of MLS Fantasy managers.
You can find additional MLS Fantasy resources for the 2022 season here.
We are finally approaching matchday seven in MLS Fantasy, and with many players called up for national duties this week, it will be very interesting and tricky to pick players who can boost you up in rankings. So here we are to help you with our differential picks for this week.
Forwards
Diego Rubio Vs FC Dallas (H) ($9.1 M)
With just a single win in this season vs a weak rotated Portland Timbers team, FC Dallas have been underwhelming. When it comes to away games, they have lost both the games and now they face Colorado at their home which is a very challenging venue for any team considering the altitude. Now with Hedges potentially out, this might be a week to look out for some Colorado attackers. Diego Rubio with great performance in the last game might be worth a look, he has 13 Key passes so far in this season which is very high for a forward and has potential for extra bonus points.
Adrien Alfredo Perez Vs Inter Miami CF (A) ($4.2 M)
Both teams rank top five in most goals conceded with Miami being slightly better so far. Registering 17 shots vs solid Philadelphia Union in their last game DC United have been unlucky with the number of chances they got to capitalize. Adrien Perez alone had eight shots in the last game and might be a super cheap differential facing a weak Miami defence who have their centre-back Leandro Martín González Pírez suspended for picking up too many yellow cards.
Dániel Sallói Vs Houston Dynamo (H) ($6.6 M)
Sporting Kansas City are back to their best! So far, they are the best shooting team with 105 shots tied with Minnesota United who only have five goals so far this season compared to SKC’s 12. Dániel Sallói has two goals in his last two appearances playing alongside Alan Pulido who has been sensational in the same number of games. Priced around just $ 6.6m makes Sallói a solid pickup for the bench from a good attacking team.
Midfielders
Cristian Espinoza Vs LA Galaxy (A) ($7.9 M)
Playing one of the worst defences in the league is enough to consider Cristian Espinoza as an option for this week. Derrick Williams is suspended for LA Galaxy this week which is a setback for them in a derby.
Michael Barrios Vs FC Dallas (H) ($7.5 M)
Michael Barrios has registered the highest number of shots for Rapids this season. He’s listed as a midfielder in the game but plays OOP as a second striker beside Rubio which is a good sign for any fantasy pick.
Arnór Ingvi Traustason Vs FC Cincinnati (A) ($6.5 M)
Facing the worst defence in the league and the best player in the league this season to feed him makes Traustason a great differential pick for this week.
Defender
Miles Robinson Vs Nashville SC (H) ($6.9 M)
Atlanta United have looked very good defensively over the past few weeks as they restricted the league’s best-attacking team to only two shots on target which is enough to consider them against Nashville who continue to struggle to score goals.
Brendan Hines-Ike Vs Inter Miami CF (A) ($5.6 M)
Conceding only six and seven shots to Orlando City SC and Philadelphia Union DC have improved their defence. Pines getting minutes in the last game is also a boost for them to keep a clean sheet however, Hines-Ike could get few shots vs Miami who have problems in defending set-pieces conceding 10 chances in their last outing at Soldier Field.
Goalkeeper
Tim Melia Vs Houston Dynamo (H) ($6.5 M)
Sporting Kansas City only conceded five shots to Houston Dynamo in the reverse fixture with only one of them being on target and now they have home advantage which would boost their chances at a clean sheet with a potentially fit defence. He also forms a great keeperoo option with Cleveland as he plays on Saturday.

We’ve seen some absolutely amazing performances and hauls from cheap players like Smith, Rubio, and Cowell, all three of which are viable in this round too. But who will surprise us all this time and who will flop?
