After the opening week of the Champions League which had lots of goals and high-scoring games, UCL Fantasy is back for matchday 2 and we present to you our top 10 players in each position that you should consider.

UCL Fantasy Forward Rankings

RankNameTeamOpponentValueComments
1Karim BenzemaReal Madridvs Sheriff Tiraspol€10MBenzema is the most in form player in Europe currently with 8 goals and 7 assists in just 7 La Liga games. The next game against Sheriff is as good as it gets and he is a great long-term pick as he doesn't play Inter until MD6 but the rumors about him being rested cast a major shadow of doubt.
2Robert LewandowskiBayern Munichvs Dynamo Kyiv€11.5MLewandowski's 19-game consecutive goal-scoring run came to an end for Bayern Munich last week but it shouldn't be much of a concern since the last time he went without scoring in all competitions for more than two games was back in November 2019.
3Romelu LukakuChelsea FC@Juventus€10.5MTo say that this is one of the worst Juventus teams in recent years would be an understatement. They have been barely scraping past relegation contenders, have conceded 10 goals in just 6 games which is the most among teams in the top 10 so I can't see why Lukaku won't score against them.
4Lautaro MartínezInter Milan@Shakhtar Donetsk€10MIt is almost 50/50 between Martínez and Džeko with the former having more goal threat but is often subbed out early and the latter being on spot-kick duties.
5Sébastien HallerAjaxvs Beşiktaş J.K.€8.5MI am not expecting Haller to repeat his 4-goal heroics but he is still worth a shout as a differential.

Also worth considering is teammate Dušan Tadić. He has 4 goals and 5 assists in 7 Eredivisie games at an average of 0.64 goals per 90. Haller might've stolen the show last time out but Tadić could be a shrewd pick with added potential to create goals from set-pieces as well as score them.
6Duvan ZapataAtalantavs Young Boys€9.5M
7Cristiano RonaldoManchester Unitedvs Villarreal€11M
8NeymarPSGvs Manchester City€10.5MBad matchup but I wouldn't count him out.
9Memphis DepayBarcelona@SL Benfica€8.5MBarcelona are still trying to figure out how to play football under Koeman but Depay is one of the few players that the team can rely on to score goals and he only plays Benfica and Dynamo Kyiv until MD6.
10Diogo JotaLiverpool@FC Porto€8M

UCL Fantasy Midfielder Rankings

RankNameTeamOpponentValueComments
1Mohamed SalahLiverpool@Porto€10.5MDon't be afraid to pick him even if the fixtures aren't favorable. Salah rarely ever disappoints in fantasy.
2Leroy SanéBayern Munichvs Dynamo Kyiv€9MSané has gone from being on the verge of dropping from the national team and Bayern Munich starting XI to their most in-form midfielder in the space of just one month. He has the position change from the right to his preferred left-wing to thank for that and he has scored or assisted in each of the six games for Bayern Munich since then.
3Christopher NkunkuRB Leipzigvs Club Brugge€7.5MNkunku is one of those players that have been overlooked because he doesn't play for a more popular club and his hat-trick last week shouldn't surprise those that follow him too much. RB Leipzig are slowly starting to find their feet under Jesse Marsch and I expect Nkunku to build on his good form. An interesting tidbit from the coach's latest presser is that Nkunku might play as a striker which just increases his appeal.
4Kai HavertzChelsea@Juventus€9M
5Bruno FernandesManchester Unitedvs Villarreal€10.5M
6Kevin De BruyneManchester City@PSG€11M
7Ruslan MalinovskiyAtalantavs Young Boys€7.5MHe was the most dangerous player on the pitch in the last game against Inter Milan and if you can look past his Euro Fantasy performances then Malinovskiy is certainly worth a shout as a differential pick.
8Marco AsensioReal Madridvs Sheriff Tiraspol€6.5MThere are few Real Madrid attacking midfielders to choose from with Asensio being a rotation risk and Hazard being out of form. If only Vinícius was somehow a midfielder in this game.
9Nicolò BarellaInter Milan@Shakhtar Donetsk€7MBarella might be a central midfielder but he is on quite the hot streak with a return in each Serie A game this season and could be a bargain at €7M.
10Jude BellinghamBorussia Dortmundvs Sporting CP€7MIf he starts in an attacking role as he did against Beşiktaş then another big score could be on the cards.

UCL Fantasy Defender Rankings

RankNameTeamOpponentValueComments
1Joshua KimmichBayern Munichvs Dynamo Kyiv€6.5MJulian Nagelsmann has fixed Bayern's biggest issue which was their defence and Kimmich who plays OOP in midfield is almost a must-have because of how involved he has been in the Bayern attack with 3 goals and 3 assists in just 6 Bundesliga games.

Upamecano is also worth a shout with his ball recovery potential as he costs €1M cheaper.
2Antonio RüdigerChelsea@Juventus€5.5MIf your original plan was to toss Chelsea defenders out when they play Juventus, you might want to think about it again as Juventus will be without Dybala and Morata for the game.
3Virgil Van DijkLiverpool@Porto€6M
4Robin GosensAtalantavs Young Boys€5.5MUnited make Young Boys look like a good team but that isn't the case as it was only their second-ever win in the UCL.
5Éder MilitãoReal Madridvs Sheriff Tiraspol€5M
6Noussair MazraouiAjaxvs Beşiktaş J.K.€4.5MThere are few forwards with more goals and assists than Mazraoui domestically (4G and 2A in 7 games) so there is incredible upside for him over here in a game against a Beşiktaş side missing as many as 11 first-team players.
7Achraf HakimiPSGvs Manchester City€6.5MHow this game is going to go is anyone's guess but PSG have the home advantage.
8Denzel DumfriesInter Milan@Shakhtar Donetsk€5MDimarco (if he starts) > Dumfries.

This is because Dimarco is on corners, free-kicks and even took a penalty recently but missed.
9João CanceloManchester City@PSG€6M
10Mats HummelsBorussia Dortmundvs Sporting CP€5MWhy do I prefer Hummels over Guerreiro?

1) He is better at ball recoveries so his floor is higher.

2) Has 1 goal in the last 3 Champions League seasons compared to Guerreiro's 1 goal and 1 assist.

3) Costs €1M less.

Goalkeepers

RankNameTeamOpponentValueComments
1Manuel NeuerBayern Munichvs Dynamo Kyiv€6MExpensive, but a tempting pick as he plays Benfica and Kyiv over the next four games.
2Edouard MendyChelsea@Juventus€6M
3Alisson BeckerLiverpool@Porto€6M
4Andriy LuninReal Madridvs Sheriff Tiraspol€4MA €4M keeper against Sheriff Tiraspol that rotates perfectly with Neuer, Mendy and other budget keepers is just perfect but the clean sheet odds depend on how heavily Real Madrid rotates.
5Remko PasveerAjaxvs Beşiktaş J.K.€4.5M

Value Rankings

1Miguel GutiérrezDEFReal Madridvs Sheriff Tiraspol€4MHe might not play too often in the group stages but Gutiérrez is great if you are on limitless this week.
2Jérôme RoussillonDEFWolfsburg@FC Sevilla€4M
3Edin DžekoFWDInter Milan@Shakhtar Donetsk€7.5M
4Gregor KobelGKPBorussia Dortmundvs Sporting CP€4.5MThe entire Dortmund backline did not train yesterday which is why I am a bit skeptical here.
5Mohamed SimakanDEFRB Leipzigvs Club Brugge€4.5M
6Artem DzyubaFWDDynamo Kyivvs Malmö FF€8MMalmö have possibly the worst defence in the tournament so a Dzyuba or Malcolm punt could be rewarding. Not that I am considering either of them seriously with all the other forwards available.
7CasemiroMIDReal Madridvs Sheriff Tiraspol€6.5M
8Karim AdeyemiFWDRB Salzburgvs LOSC Lille€7MAdeyemi won an outrageous 3 penalties in the last game and missed one of them but I think that he has some goals in him.
9Brahim DíazMIDAC Milanvs Atlético Madrid€6MDíaz has been AC Milan's best player so far with 4 goals and an assist in 7 Serie A games including consecutive goals in his last two games. Possibly the best midfielder within €6M.
10Diogo DalotDEFManchester Unitedvs Villareal€4.5MProbably the cheapest you will get a United defender for all season but the team has kept just one clean sheet across all competitions so far.
