The previous week in Bundesliga Fantasy had its fair share of surprising results last week with Schalke finally ending their winless streak against Hoffenheim, Arminia fighting tooth and nail to beat Hertha and Borussia stealing 3 points from table-toppers Bayern Munich. These are our Bundesliga Fantasy Player Rankings for the week:
Forwards
Rank | Name | Team | Opponent | Value | Comments |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Robert Lewandowski | FCB | Vs SCF | 22.5M | Bayern have lost their last two games in 2021 which is the same amount of games they lost in 2020 and Freiburg have won their last five games but we have seen Bayern snap two unbeaten streaks before and Lewandowski scored a brace in each of them against Wolfsburg and Leverkusen. He is now on a five game scoring run of his own. |
2 | Erling Braut Haaland | BVB | Vs M05 | 19.1M | |
3 | Andre Silva | SGE | Vs S04 | 17.2M | Schalke might've kept a cleansheet last week in a convincing victory against TSG but I need to see more of that to be convinced that they are even remotely good. Schalke have conceded the most penalty goals this season whereas Silva has scored the most from the spot and his individual fixture at the end of the week makes him the perfect third forward. |
4 | Nicolás González | VFB | Vs BMG | 9.6M | This game has all the elements to be a high-scoring game and González is my choice for a forward in this game. He is one yellow card away from suspension. |
5 | Matheus Cunha | BSC | @KOE | 14.5M | |
6 | Thomas Müller | FCB | Vs SCF | 20.1M | The second-highest scoring forward in the game is a early contender for a Bayern double up with games against Augsburg and Schalke coming up next. |
7 | Patrick Schick | B04 | @FCU | 14.9M | |
8 | Marco Reus | BVB | Vs M05 | 17.6M | Reus seems to have found some of his old mojo back in the last few games setting up other attackers. |
9 | Ermedin Demirović | SCF | @FCB | 7.3M | |
10 | Andrej Kramarić | TSG | Vs DSC | 15.8M | It is a waiting game now for when he gets into form next. |
Midfielders
Rank | Name | Team | Opponent | Value | Comments |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Jonas Hofmann | BMG | @VFB | 13.2M | Hofmann is as essential as Lewandowski and Angeliño are this season and he already has scores of 24 and 18 since his return. |
2 | Filip Kostić | SGE | Vs S04 | 15.9M | If we are talking about scores then Kostic has 11, 11 and 12 points his last three games without a goal or an assist. Any return against Schalke would be most welcome. |
3 | Jadon Sancho | BVB | Vs M05 | 19.3M | He is well and truly reborn under Terzic and is hard to overlook with double digit scores in each of his last four games. |
4 | Vincenzo Grifo | SCF | Vs KOE | 13.9M | It would be questionable to recommend a Freiburg player against Bayern on any other day but this is the worst FCB defense we have seen in a long time. |
5 | Lars Stindl | BMG | @VFB | 14.6M | |
6 | Leroy Sané | FCB | Vs SCF | 17.9M | It is 50/50 between him and Kimmich but he is starting to gain some form and plays in a more advanced position. |
7 | Ritsu Dōan | DSC | @TSG | 8.8M | |
8 | Nadiem Amiri | B04 | @FCU | 13.6M | He might be the only midfielder worth considering from the early kick-off with Wirtz being a doubt against Union Berlin - A team that is vulnerable to set-pieces. |
9 | Dani Olmo | RBL | @WOB | 16.1M | |
10 | Mateo Klimowicz | VFB | Vs BMG | 1.9M |
Defenders
Rank | Name | Team | Opponent | Value | Comments |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Raphaël Guerreiro | BVB | Vs M05 | 16M | Guerreiro could cash in from a possible drubbing here. |
2 | Angeliño | RBL | @WOB | 16.1M | |
3 | Erik Durm | SGE | Vs S04 | 3.6M | His 17 pointer last week was unexpected but if he keeps taking shots freely and gains bonus points consistently then he could be a good budget option for the long term. Especially with Frankfurt getting their defensive act back together. |
4 | Maximilian Mittelstädt | BSC | @KOE | 8.2M | Koln have now gone four Bundesliga games without scoring and Mittelstädt could possibly fill in for Cunha on the left-wing rather than play as a left-back. |
5 | Ludwig Augustinsson | SVW | Vs FCA | 9.6M | |
6 | Christopher Trimmel | FCU | Vs B04 | 10.6M | |
7 | Borna Sosa | VFB | Vs BMG | 4.5M | |
8 | Christian Günter | SCF | Vs FCB | 11.9M | His range for this game is anywhere from -5 to 15 points. Depends on Bayern's performance and you would rather use a transfer elsewhere. |
9 | Ramy Bensebaini | BMG | @VFB | 11.6M | |
10 | Iago | FCA | @SVW | 5.1M |
Goalkeepers
Rank | Name | Team | Opponent | Value | Comments |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Stefan Ortega | DSC | @TSG | 6.1M | Hoffenheim failed to score against the worst defense in the league last week and Arminia is far from that. |
2 | Gregor Kobel | VFB | Vs BMG | 5.6M | |
3 | Jiri Pavlenka | SVW | Vs FCA | 7M | Only the bottom four teams have scored fewer goals than Bremen and Augsburg so either team could get a cleansheet here. |
4 | Rafał Gikiewicz | FCA | @SVW | 7.7M | |
5 | Andreas Luthe | FCU | Vs B04 | 4.9M |
