Bundesliga Fantasy Player Rankings: Matchday 16

The previous week in Bundesliga Fantasy had its fair share of surprising results last week with Schalke finally ending their winless streak against Hoffenheim, Arminia fighting tooth and nail to beat Hertha and Borussia stealing 3 points from table-toppers Bayern Munich. These are our Bundesliga Fantasy Player Rankings for the week:

1Robert LewandowskiFCBVs SCF22.5MBayern have lost their last two games in 2021 which is the same amount of games they lost in 2020 and Freiburg have won their last five games but we have seen Bayern snap two unbeaten streaks before and Lewandowski scored a brace in each of them against Wolfsburg and Leverkusen. He is now on a five game scoring run of his own.
2Erling Braut HaalandBVBVs M0519.1M
3Andre SilvaSGEVs S0417.2MSchalke might've kept a cleansheet last week in a convincing victory against TSG but I need to see more of that to be convinced that they are even remotely good. Schalke have conceded the most penalty goals this season whereas Silva has scored the most from the spot and his individual fixture at the end of the week makes him the perfect third forward.
4Nicolás GonzálezVFBVs BMG9.6MThis game has all the elements to be a high-scoring game and González is my choice for a forward in this game. He is one yellow card away from suspension.
5Matheus CunhaBSC@KOE14.5M
6Thomas MüllerFCBVs SCF20.1MThe second-highest scoring forward in the game is a early contender for a Bayern double up with games against Augsburg and Schalke coming up next.
7Patrick SchickB04@FCU14.9M
8Marco ReusBVBVs M0517.6MReus seems to have found some of his old mojo back in the last few games setting up other attackers.
9Ermedin DemirovićSCF@FCB7.3M
10Andrej KramarićTSGVs DSC15.8MIt is a waiting game now for when he gets into form next.

Midfielders

RankNameTeamOpponentValueComments
1Jonas HofmannBMG@VFB13.2MHofmann is as essential as Lewandowski and Angeliño are this season and he already has scores of 24 and 18 since his return.
2Filip KostićSGEVs S0415.9MIf we are talking about scores then Kostic has 11, 11 and 12 points his last three games without a goal or an assist. Any return against Schalke would be most welcome.
3Jadon SanchoBVBVs M0519.3MHe is well and truly reborn under Terzic and is hard to overlook with double digit scores in each of his last four games.
4Vincenzo GrifoSCFVs KOE13.9MIt would be questionable to recommend a Freiburg player against Bayern on any other day but this is the worst FCB defense we have seen in a long time.
5Lars StindlBMG@VFB14.6M
6Leroy SanéFCBVs SCF17.9MIt is 50/50 between him and Kimmich but he is starting to gain some form and plays in a more advanced position.
7Ritsu DōanDSC@TSG8.8M
8Nadiem AmiriB04@FCU13.6MHe might be the only midfielder worth considering from the early kick-off with Wirtz being a doubt against Union Berlin - A team that is vulnerable to set-pieces.
9Dani OlmoRBL@WOB16.1M
10Mateo KlimowiczVFBVs BMG1.9M

Defenders

RankNameTeamOpponentValueComments
1Raphaël GuerreiroBVBVs M0516MGuerreiro could cash in from a possible drubbing here.
2AngeliñoRBL@WOB16.1M
3Erik DurmSGEVs S043.6MHis 17 pointer last week was unexpected but if he keeps taking shots freely and gains bonus points consistently then he could be a good budget option for the long term. Especially with Frankfurt getting their defensive act back together.
4Maximilian MittelstädtBSC@KOE8.2MKoln have now gone four Bundesliga games without scoring and Mittelstädt could possibly fill in for Cunha on the left-wing rather than play as a left-back.
5Ludwig AugustinssonSVWVs FCA9.6M
6Christopher TrimmelFCUVs B0410.6M
7Borna SosaVFBVs BMG4.5M
8Christian GünterSCFVs FCB11.9MHis range for this game is anywhere from -5 to 15 points. Depends on Bayern's performance and you would rather use a transfer elsewhere.
9Ramy BensebainiBMG@VFB11.6M
10IagoFCA@SVW5.1M

Goalkeepers

RankNameTeamOpponentValueComments
1Stefan OrtegaDSC@TSG6.1MHoffenheim failed to score against the worst defense in the league last week and Arminia is far from that.
2Gregor KobelVFBVs BMG5.6M
3Jiri PavlenkaSVWVs FCA7MOnly the bottom four teams have scored fewer goals than Bremen and Augsburg so either team could get a cleansheet here.
4Rafał GikiewiczFCA@SVW7.7M
5Andreas LutheFCUVs B044.9M
