This is a review of players you may not have considered for your FPL squad. Here are our recommendations for standout players in Gameweek 5.

GK: Robin Roefs (4.5 – 1.9%)

It’s no surprise that his name tops this list. With 27 points, he’s just 2 points behind Vicario at the top of the goalkeeper standings so far this season.

With a high expected goals conceded (xGC) of 1.13, Roefs has only conceded 3 goals against Burnley in Gameweek 2 and Brentford in Gameweek 3. He has also made 13 saves in his first 4 Premier League matches. Not only that, Roefs has also earned 2 clean sheets and made 1 penalty save.

Next opponents: Aston Villa, N. Forrest, & MU.

DEF: Tyrone Mings (4.5 – 1.4%)

Villa may be a team struggling to score goals, but they have been impressive at the back. They have recorded 2 clean sheets in their first 4 GW.

Mings is an intriguing player with an expected goals conceded (xGC) of 1.85, having secured 1 defensive point and a clean sheet against Everton.

Next 3 GW: Sunderland, Fulham, Burnley.

MID: Lucas Bergvall (5.4 – 0.3%)

Although not always the first choice, he has gradually become reliable for Thomas Frank in the last two Spurs matches.

Against West Ham and Villarreal, Bergvall was the main protagonist with 1 goal & 1 assist + 1 own goal caused by Luiz Junior against Villarreal.

This is a positive note considering Thomas Frank is still searching for the ideal composition of the current Spurs squad.

Next opponents: Brighton, Wolves, Leeds.

FWD: Nick Woltemade (7.0 – 2.7%)

This tall figure might be a good fit for Newcastle, considering how Newcastle has Jacob Murphy, who since the start of last season has only been surpassed by Mohamed Salah (19) in terms of total crosses (12) from open play situations.

With good positioning, his solitary goal against Wolves seemed like an epic welcome message for FPL managers.

Next opponents: Bournemouth, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest.

There you have it the standout player recommendations for Gameweek 5.
