The arrival of matchday 11 in Bundesliga Fantasy signals the start of the “Englische Woche” – a run of matchdays where a team plays thrice in a week from weekend to midweek to the weekend again. The relief from UCL and Europa games is short-lived as another hectic schedule awaits us. These are our Bundesliga fantasy player rankings for the week:
Forwards
Rank | Name | Team | Opponent | Value | Comments |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Robert Lewandowski | FCB | @FCU | 20.7M | It was surprising that Lewandowski wasn't involved in a single goal when Bayern scored three and some might be having their doubts on whether he is essential or not. I would say you can avoid him but at your own risk. I don't think it is worth it. |
2 | Wout Weghorst | Wolfsburg | Vs SGE | 16.4M | Wolfsburg was one of the teams with the least goals scored initially but that has turned around in the last three games in which they have scored nine goals in total, corresponding to Weghorst's purple patch who has scored four goals and assisted one in those games. Additional bonus is that he plays in the first game of the week against a Frankfurt team that hasn't kept a cleansheet in their last 23 Bundesliga games. |
3 | Yussuf Poulsen | RBL | Vs SVW | 11.4M | |
4 | Kingsley Coman | FCB | @FCU | 14.1M | A bit unexpected but Coman has been the most in-form player for Bayern as of late and it is evident in his recent performances where he has scored two goals and assisted four in his last three games. Including the hattrick of assists against Leipzig last week. |
5 | Alassane Pléa | BMG | Vs BSC | 16M | |
6 | Leon Bailey | B04 | Vs TSG | 12.9M | Leverkusen have been on a demolition derby as of late by scoring atleast three goals in nine out of their last 12 games across all competitions and Hoffenheim should be a more challenging game but it is tough to imagine that they will be spared. |
7 | Andrej Kramarić | TSG | @B04 | 15.6M | It has almost become frustrating to own Kramaric after the introduction of Bebou up top. He plays like a secondary attacker now with Bebou taking a big pie out of his potential points. |
8 | Andre Silva | SGE | @WOB | 16.1M | |
9 | Marco Reus | BVB | Vs VFB | 16.8M | |
10 | Jean-Phillipe Mateta | M05 | Vs KOE | 11.6M | Mainz and Mateta's form has been a bit topsy-turvy so it is tough to set expectations. Especially against Koln who haven't conceded more than one goal away. |
Midfielders
Rank | Name | Team | Opponent | Value | Comments |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Vincenzo Grifo | SCF | Vs DSC | 12.9M | No other midfielder has scored more points over the last two weeks than Grifo with 16 points and a goal in each game. You can expect him to take on a lot of shots as well as create many in a game where Freiburg will be desperate to end their nine game winless streak. |
2 | Daniel Caligiuri | FCA | Vs S04 | 10.5M | Caligiuri has been a vital cog of the Augsburg attack being their top goal scorer this season and he will be a threat from set-pieces against the worst defending team from dead ball situations. Simply the best option against Schalke this week. |
3 | Lars Stindl | BMG | Vs BSC | 13.3M | |
4 | Jadon Sancho | BVB | Vs VFB | 17.9M | |
5 | Florian Wirtz | B04 | Vs TSG | 7.4M | |
6 | Giovanni Reyna | BVB | Vs VFB | 8.3M | Packs the same punch as Sancho at half the price. |
7 | Daichi Kamada | SGE | @WOB | 13M | It is tough to select between him and Kostic but Kamada has simply been better this season and has the third highest key passes after Muller and Nkunku. |
8 | Dani Olmo | RBL | Vs SVW | 14.9M | I would prefer Nkunku but since he doesn't feature in any predicted lineups, Olmo will be my second choice. |
9 | Josip Brekalo | WOB | Vs SGE | 10.6M | |
10 | Ritsu Doan | DSC | @SCF | 7.9M |
Defenders
Rank | Name | Team | Opponent | Value | Comments |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Christian Günter | SCF | Vs DSC | 11.7M | Dangerous set-piece and crossing ability always makes him a good option against lower teams. |
2 | Marcel Halstenberg | RBL | Vs SVW | 12.8M | If Angelino is rested then this penalty taking defender becomes the best asset from the Leipzig defense. |
3 | Lucas Hernandez | FCB | @FCU | 11.9M | Union might be the team with the most goals scored after Bayern but the absence of Max Kruse takes away all the venom from them. |
4 | Mats Hummels | BVB | Vs VFB | 14.2M | This is assuming Guerreiro doesn't start. |
5 | Iago | FCA | Vs S04 | 5.1M | There is a real chance that no-clean-sheet-in-seven-games-Augsburg gets scored on by the lowest scoring team in the league in Schalke but Iago is still worth a shout. |
6 | Ismail Jakobs | KOE | @M05 | 6.8M | |
7 | Oscar Wendt | BMG | Vs BSC | 6.4M | The suspension of Cunha should boost Borussia's clean sheet possibility a bit. Not that I am expecting one. |
8 | Borna Sosa | VFB | @BVB | 4.1M | |
9 | Lars Bender | B04 | Vs TSG | 10.1M | |
10 | Maxence Lacroix | WOB | Vs SGE | 4.8M |
Goalkeepers
Rank | Name | Team | Opponent | Value | Comments |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Rafał Gikiewicz | FCA | Vs S04 | 7.4M | There might not be many shots to save for Gikiwicz but a good cleansheet chance should do. |
2 | Stefan Ortega | DSC | @SCF | 5.3M | Yes, I rated him over Müller who has better cleansheet odds since he is in better form and gets a lot of save points. |
3 | Robin Zentner | M05 | @DSC | 4.5M | |
4 | Florian Müller | SCF | Vs DSC | 2.1M | |
5 | Gregor Kobel | VFB | @BVB | 5.1M |
