Fantasy Bundesliga: Differential Picks for Matchday 13

With the deadline for matchday 13 fast approaching, this article looks at the differential players who are very lowly owned but have a huge potential in Fantasy Bundesliga this week.

Fantasy Bundesliga Forward Picks

Ihlas Bebou

🦌 Club: Hoffenheim

💵 Price: 8.1M

Hoffenheim forward Bebou is a cheaper alternative to Andrej Kramaric. However, he will lead the line for Hoffenheim against the league’s worst defence Furth who have conceded a league-high 30 goals. With an xG of 2.8 and ownership of just 1%, he can be the player who can push you up the fantasy ranks.

Mark Uth

🐐 Club: FC Köln

💵 Price: 9.1M

Uth has been instrumental in building up the FC Köln attack, linking up the play, creating chances and is the first choice set-piece and penalty taker. With an xG of 2.3 and xA of 2 and playing against a Gladbach defence that has been leaky away from home, a good fantasy return could be on the cards for this 1% owned forward.

Fantasy Bundesliga Midfield Picks

Daichi Kamada

🦅 Club: Eintracht Frankfurt

💵 Price: 11.5M

Kamada is an interesting option in the Frankfurt midfield as they appear to have turned the corner with a win against Freiburg and a last min draw in the UEL match. Kamada has scored in his previous three UEL matches, though he is still to hit the net in the league, his advanced positioning of almost playing as the second striker and fixtures against Union and Hoffenheim make this midfielder owned by just 2% of the managers a solid differential.

Marco Richter

🐻 Club: Hertha Berlin

💵 Price: 7.3M

Hertha have not been on form this season and will be looking to turn around beginning with their home game against Augsburg. Richter listed as a midfielder is playing as a second striker, represents a player who can take advantage of their fixtures against Augsburg and Stuttgart and go on a scoring run against his former team Augsburg.

Fantasy Bundesliga Defence Picks

Kevin Akpoguma

🦌 Club: Hoffenheim

💵 Price: 5.8M

Akpoguma was the highest-scoring fantasy player last matchday with 25 points, and that too without scoring and assisting, which highlights the player’s duel winning and attack potential. Playing in the right wing-back position, he also gets forward and is good aerially as well. With an upcoming fixture against Greuther Fürth, the worst defensive team in the league, a clean sheet and an attacking return look likely for this 2% owned defender.

Mads Pedersen

🌳 Club: FC Augsburg

💵 Price: 4.3M

Pedersen has been playing out of position on the left-wing for Augsburg and looks an exciting prospect, especially after his attacking display against Bayern Munich, where he scored a superb volley and set up many chances. With Upcoming fixtures against Hertha, who have scored the least goals in the league and Bochum, this 1% owned defender can be the differential player that will help you gain ranks.

Fantasy Bundesliga: Template Team and Differential Picks for Matchday 12

Fantasy Bundesliga Matchday 12 is on the horizon, and it is time to set our fantasy teams for upcoming matchdays with unlimited transfers. In this article, I have picked the template players who should form the base of your fantasy teams and deliver consistent points. It can happen that sometimes some of the picks can be out of your budget so that they can be replaced by players mentioned in other notable picks.

Fantasy Bundesliga Forward Picks

Robert Lewandowski

🔴 Club: Bayern Munich

💵 Price: 19.4M

The best forward in the game by far; he can score against any opponent and is on good form, scoring in each of his last seven games. He is a must-have pick unless you want a red arrow.

Anthony Modeste

🐐 Club: FC Köln

💵 Price: 8.4M

The FC Köln marksman has recently been in great goal-scoring form, scoring eight goals in 11 starts, including a brace in the last game against Union Berlin. With favorable fixtures against  Mainz, Gladbach, and Bielefeld, he can continue his scoring streak.

Jonathan Burkardt

🤡 Club: FSV Mainz 05

💵 Price: 7.2M

The Mainz forward is the leading scorer in the team with five goals in his 10 starts and finishing off the chances that he gets clinically. He is a much-improved player from previous seasons, and with good fixtures against FC Köln and Stuttgart, we can expect more goals from him in the coming weeks.

Honorable Mentions

Thomas Müller (FCB, 17M)

Lukas Nmecha (WOB, 9M)

Taiwo Awoniyi (FCU, 8.6M)

Fantasy Bundesliga Midfield Picks

Leon Goretzka

🔴 Club: Bayern Munich

💵 Price: 15.3M

Goretzka has been in good form in the recent matches and is heavily involved in the attacking play making runs from midfield and finishing chances in the box. In the last match against Freiburg, he took three shots, scoring once, striking the post twice in only 70 minutes, and returning 19 points.  With 19, 12 & 17 points in his last three starts and facing an Augsburg team who have conceded 20 goals in their 11 matches, another double-digit return is on the horizon.

Jonas Hoffman

🐎 Club: Borussia Mönchengladbach

💵 Price: 13.7M

Hoffman has been the talisman for this Gladbach team and is the leading scorer in the team with four goals. He is involved in most of their attacking play, creating key passes and setting up chances (xG -3.9 xA-3.0), including the freekicks and corners. Gladbach have a home game against Furth, the bottom-placed team that has conceded 29 goals, the highest in the league, and could see Hoffman getting a good return in fantasy.

Christopher Nkunku

🐂 Club: RB Leipzig

💵 Price: 16.3M

Leipzig midfielder Christopher Nkunku has been in great form with five goals and three assists this season and has been the main man for Leipzig in attack.  With expected goals (xG) of 5.2 and expected assists (xA) of 3.3, a high ceiling of fantasy points can be expected in all the upcoming matches.

Florian Wirtz

🦁 Club: Bayer Leverkusen

💵 Price: 12.5M

This Leverkusen midfield maestro is having a great season with four goals and six assists and will need to carry Leverkusen in the absence of Schick and other notable absentees in midfield. However, a match against promoted Bochum looks very promising for fantasy points on MD12.

Filip Kostić

🦅 Club: Eintracht Frankrut

💵 Price: 15.8M

The Serbian is picking up form after his injury, and after their brilliant performance in beating Portugal to qualify for the World Cup, he will be on a high and will be vital to turning around Frankfurt’s season. Kostić is averaging almost 10 fantasy points per match and can deliver fantasy points irrespective of opponents making him fixture proof.

Honourable Mentions

Florian Kainz (KOE, 8.4M)

Joshua Kimmich (FCB, 17M)

Vincenzo Grifo (SCF, 13.5M)

Julian Brandt (BVB, 10.8M)

Fantasy Bundesliga Defence Picks

Christian Günter

⚫ Club: SC Freiburg

💵 Price: 12.9M

Günter, who plays as a left-back and sometimes left-wing-back for Freiburg, is the highest-scoring defender in the game. He also takes corners and set pieces from the left and is an attacking threat from the crosses. With favorable fixtures against Frankfurt and Bochum, he is an excellent player to own.

Joe Scally

🐎 Club: Borussia Mönchengladbach

💵 Price: 2.9M

Scally playing right-back for the Gladbach team is the best budget enabler who enables us to pick high-priced players in other positions. Still, he is more than just an enabler with a goal and an assist, making him a player to own irrespective of fixtures.

Niko Gießelmann

⚒️ Club: FC Union Berlin

💵 Price: 4.7M

Playing on the left as a wing-back for Union Berlin, Niko has chipped in with three goals and two assists, making him one of the highest-scoring defenders in the season. He is only 4.7M and is performing almost as a premium defender, and with favorable fixtures in upcoming rounds, he is a lock for most teams.

Raphaël Guerreiro

🐝 Club: Borussia Dortmund

💵 Price: 14.6M

One of the top defenders in the Bundesliga and playing on the left in an attack-minded Dortmund team, Guerriero contributes with goals and assists. He is on free kicks, corners, and the first-choice penalty taker in the absence of Haaland. There is a fitness concern as he is coming off an injury, but he should make a place in our squads if he is fit to play.

Angeliño

🐂 Club: RB Leipzig

💵 Price: 14.6M

This Leipzig left-back has been one of the best fantasy defenders over the years, though this season has not been his best in terms of scoring mostly due to Leipzig’s unsettled formation and tactics. However, now starting regularly in the first team and fixtures against Hoffenheim, who are defensively leaky, could see Angeliño deliver a haul in Fantasy Bundesliga.

Note: I am not picking any Bayern defenders as there is uncertainty regarding a start for Davies and other defensive positions, but going for them on early kick-off game can also turn out to be good.

Honorable Mentions

Danilo Soares (BOC, 6.8M)

Alphonso Davies (FCB, 14.6M)

Aarón Martín (M05, 3.1M)

Goalkeeper Picks

Mark Flekken

⚫ Club: SC Freiburg

💵 Price: 7.4M

The highest scoring keeper in the game, averaging almost eight points per game, and playing for a good defensive side in Freiburg, who have conceded the least goals seems like a natural choice, and the fixtures are also favorable.

Honorable Mentions

Manuel Riemann (BOC, 5.5M)

Lukáš Hrádecký (B04, 9.1M)

Andreas Luthe (FCU, 5.5M)

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 8 – Template Team and Differential Picks

With the deadline for Bundesliga Fantasy MD8 quickly approaching, In this article, I @FBLThinker have shared a team with essential players to own for not only this matchday but going forward for the subsequent upcoming matchdays. Some differentials have also been included in the team keeping matchups in mind and also the probability of changing the players later down the line with three transfers given ahead of a new matchday.

Bundesliga Fantasy Forward Picks

Robert Lewandowski

🔴 Club: Bayern Munich

💵 Price: 18.4M

📊 Ownership: 74%

He is the second-highest scoring forward in the game now and with seven goals in seven games, and he is the focal point of Bayern’s attack, making him a must-have in your fantasy teams.

Erling Halaand

🐝 Club: Borussia Dortmund

💵 Price: 17.6M

📊 Ownership: 69%

Despite missing the last two matches, the highest-scoring forward in the game has a suitable fixture against Mainz at home. However, the Norwegian was out with an injury before the International break and is doubtful to start this week. If you are considering an upside chasing move to make up the ranks, then leaving him out for the single matchday is a risk that can be taken.

Breel Embolo

🐎 Club: Borussia Mönchengladbach

💵 Price: 10.3M

📊 Ownership: 2%

Embolo has been in great form scoring in the last Bundesliga match against Wolfsburg and continued the goal-scoring form in the International Break. A home game against Stuttgart who are missing some of their key defenders and first choice keeper through covid, can provide a high-scoring game in which Embolo can continue to his goal-scoring run.

Honourable mentions

Andrej Kramarić (HOF, 15.4M, 5% selected)

Sam Lammers (SGE, 7.3M, 1% selected)

Bundesliga Fantasy Midfielder Picks

Christopher Nkunku

🐂 Club: RB Leipzig

💵 Price: 15.3M

📊 Ownership: 20%

Nkunku was in top form before the international break scoring four goals and being involved in most of their attacking play for Leipzig and also took set-pieces which makes him an essential asset in midfield for the game.

Filip Kostić

🦅 Club: Eintracht Frankfurt

💵 Price: 15.2M

📊 Ownership: 13%

Kostic is looking like the player he was in the previous seasons with a massive haul against Bayern Munich (1G+1A) and is involved in all the set pieces and corners for Frankfurt. He now plays at home against Hertha Berlin who have already conceded 20 times in their last seven matches, and looks set for another big point haul.

Jonas Hofmann

🐎 Club: Borussia Mönchengladbach

💵 Price: 13.1M

📊 Ownership: 2%

Hofmann has been involved most of Gladbach attacking play starting on the right flank of the front three and even drifting in centrally. In his last match against Wolfsburg, he had nine crosses and five key passes, illustrating his value to the Gladbach midfield. Another interesting point to note with Stindl missing the last penalty kick and Bensebaini not fit, he could also be on penalties.

Daniel Caligiuri

🌳 Club: FC Augsburg

💵 Price: 9.4M

📊 Ownership: 1%

Augsburg’s talisman has been picked keeping in mind the tricky matchups for MD8 and as he plays in the last kickoff to act as cover for the midfield. He is involved in all set-pieces for Augsburg, including penalty kicks. With a game against Armenia who have conceded the most shots, Caliguiri looks likely to contribute with good fantasy points.

Honourable Mentions

Florian Wirtz (B04, 12.4M, 27% selected)

Leon Goretzka (FCB, 15.1M, 21% selected)

Lars Stindl (BMG, 13.3M, 7% selected)

Bundesliga Fantasy Defender Picks

Angeliño

🐂 Club: RB Leipzig

💵 Price: 14.1M

📊 Ownership: 14%

Angeliño has come into prominence ever since Leipzig switched to three at the back, and it looks like he is capturing his past form. In the game against Bochum, he put in four crosses, took one shot and created a big chance. An attacking return is surely on the cards with an (xG) of 0.3 and (xA) of 0.7. Their next match is against Freiburg who have an xGA of 3.19, so goals are expected, and with Angeliño involved in attacking play, he could contribute with a goal or an assist.

Martin Hinteregger

🦅 Club: Eintracht Frankfurt

💵 Price: 11.5M

📊 Ownership: 6%

Hinteregger has started all of Frankfurt’s seven league matches, winning around 64% of duels and achieving 2.9 clearances per game. Though Frankfurt have only kept one clean sheet, the fixtures have been on the tougher side and with a home game against Hertha who have found difficulty in scoring, he could be essential with his clean sheet potential. He has also chipped in with one goal and is an aerial threat in the box with an xG of 0.6 and xA of 0.2, so there is a good chance of him getting more goals with Hertha Berlin having conceded two goals from corners (1.9 xGA for corners).

Alphonso Davies

🔴 Club: Bayern Munich

💵 Price: 14.2M

📊 Ownership: 41%

Alphonso Davies has been in good form for both his club and country and sometimes playing almost as a left-winger for Bayern as his positioning is much higher up the pitch. Though he has not been able to match his premium price tag with a return, his underlying stats for chances created and cross makes for good reading, and a big point haul is not far away.

Honourable Mentions

Erik Durm (SGE, 7.8M, 1% selected)

Robert Gumny (FCA, 3.4M, 1% selected)

Danilo Soares (BOC, 6M, 1% selected)

Goalkeeper

Mark Flekken

⚫ Club: SC Freiburg

💵 Price: 6.8M

📊 Ownership: 7%

Freiburg’s #1 shot-stopper is a reliable goalkeeper as he has a stable defence in front of him and has saved the most number of shots in the last seven matches, thus offering a route to fantasy points from both a clean sheet as well as save points.

Bundesliga Fantasy Template XI Matchday 8

Bundesliga Fantasy: Template Team for Matchday 4

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 4 is on the horizon and we have unlimited transfers to create our teams from scratch. I have created a template team that considers the form fixtures as well as percentage selections which will help you to put a good fantasy team for the upcoming matchday. Moreover considering many manager’s fantasy budgets I have kept the average budget to 152M and also suggested a few alternatives that will help to differentiate from the rest of the template.

Template Forwards in Bundesliga Fantasy

Robert Lewandowski

The first name on most teams in the fantasy game, and though I hate using the term, he is an ESSENTIAL fantasy asset and is expected to return consistently high fantasy scores. He is now on a 13 game scoring streak which is tied for the all-time record set by Gerd Müller and you can bet on him to break another one of “Der Bomber’s” records again.

Erling Haaland

The main man for Dortmund has been in scintillating form this season scoring three goals and three assists in the opening three matches. He continued his goal-scoring run in the international break with a hattrick for Norway in their last World Cup qualifier game against Gibraltar. Haaland has the form and fixtures with games against Leverkusen, Union Berlin and Gladbach makes him a must-own player in Bundesliga Fantasy.

Wout Weghorst

The towering 6’4 Wolfsburg striker has the best fixture a striker could possibly ask for against Greuther Fürth, the side that has conceded the most number of shots in the first three matches with 60. The defensive vulnerabilities of Fürth along with the attacking threats of Wolfsburg makes him a reliable choice.

Alternatives: Andrej Kramarić and Hamadi Al Ghaddioui.

Template Midfielders in Bundesliga Fantasy

Joshua Kimmich

The Bayern central midfielder is the highest owned midfielder in the game currently with an ownership of 50% and is a stable option in the ever-changing Bayern midfield.

Though he is recently playing in a more defensive role, he has the ability to score from outside the box as well as create goals with his involvement in all set-pieces including direct free-kicks and corners which opens avenues for goals and assists.

Jude Bellingham

The Dortmund midfielder has been in good form recently scoring in the last match against Hoffenheim and taking up advanced position in the attacking play and in the absence of Gio Reyna, he will be expected to be the main creator from midfield, with upcoming games against Leverkusen and Union Berlin he is expected to be the pick of the BVB midfielders in Bundesliga Fantasy for the next few matchdays.

Ridle Baku

The Wolfsburg midfielder has been in good form to start the season notching up one goal and has provided lots of threatening crosses from the right flank.  He has some good fixtures coming up against Greuther Fürth, Frankfurt and if the strikers can convert his crosses we can see him racking up lots of points but do keep an eye out on whether he starts at right-wing or right-back in the next game.

Vincenzo Grifo

Freiburg’s main man has been the mainstay of their midfield so far. He is on all the set-piece play including direct free-kicks as well as penalty kicks. He has already found the net with a spectacular free-kick against Dortmund and with an upcoming fixture against Köln, Mainz and Augsburg, he offers great potential in fantasy.

Lars Stindl

The Gladbach captain is expected to play up front as a striker or as a #10 depending on the formation deployed and is on penalties as well. He has an xG (Expected Goals) of 2.0 and is creating a lot of chances so we can expect a big game from him sooner rather than later.

Alternatives: Roland Sallai, Jeong Woo-yeong and Maximillian Arnold.

Template Defenders in Bundesliga Fantasy

Kevin Mbabu

The Swiss right-back has good fixtures against Fürth and Frankfurt and with his attacking style of play, he can provide attacking returns along with the solid defence of Wolfsburg clean sheets are also likely.

Raphaël Guerreiro

Dortmund left-back Guerreiro is probably one of the best attacking defenders in the league and an essential for the fantasy game because of his high involvement in setting up chances and passes to shot and even has a pretty good free-kick on him to score. Though the fixtures are tricky, I still back him to get points against any opposition.

Alphonso Davies

This attacking Bayern left-back was an injury concern initially but has recovered since and was pictured in training and is expected to start. He has been taking up an attacking position in the left and can provide attacking returns and assists. The fixture against Leipzig appears tricky but considering his recent form and Bayern’s next matches with Bochum and Fürth makes him a good pick.

Joe Scally

The Gladbach defender is nailed on to start with the injury to their first-choice right-back and at a budget-friendly price of 2.2M, he is one of the best enablers in Bundesliga Fantasy right now along with Niko Gießelmann since Bayern’s Josip Stanišić is likely going to lose his spot to Benjamin Pavard.

Christian Günter

The Freiburg left-back has been very attacking in the opening few matches and is involved in a lot of their attacking play notching up an assist along with many passes to shots. His upcoming fixtures against Köln, Mainz and Augsburg offers a good chance to return fantasy points.

Alternatives: Nico Schlotterbeck, Moussa Niakhaté and Jérôme Roussillon.

Template Goalkeeper

Manuel Riemann

The Bochum Keeper has racked up the saves with a save percentage of 81% and a solid-looking Bochum defence can be the keeper of choice for the upcoming matchdays.

Alternatives: Sascha Buchert and Lukáš Hrádecký.

Fantasy Bundesliga Differential Picks for Matchday 3

Fantasy Bundesliga Matchday 3 is right around the corner and this article covers players with less than 10% ownership who could turn out to be the highest points scorers in the matchday.

Fantasy Bundesliga Forward Picks

Marco Reus vs TSG Hoffenheim (H)

The Dortmund attacking playmaker and captain has been in very good form in this new Bundesliga season. He has scored one goal and is involved in all the freekicks and set plays for the team. His underlying stats for the season are below:

⚽ Goals: 1

🎯 Assists: 2

📈 Expected Goals (Per 90): 0.19

📊 Expected Assists (Per 90): 0.19

While many own Halaand, a double up with Reus who is only owned by 7% of the managers and has a standalone fixture against Hoffenheim may be a great way to gain ranks before the International Break.

Mark Uth vs VFL Bochum (H)

The FC Köln forward has been in great goalscoring form this season with a goal against Bayern last week along with his involvement in all of the attacking play for Koln makes him a vital asset for the team. His underlying stats for the season are below:

⚽ Goals: 1

🎯 Assists: 0

📈 Expected Goals (Per 90): 0.19

📊 Expected Assists (Per 90): 0.19

Uth is owned by just 2% of the Fantasy Bundesliga managers but is a slight doubt for the upcoming game due to back problems. In case he doesn’t, Striker Anthony Modeste is also worth a shout at 6.5M although he is a bit more goal reliant for points than Uth.

Ádám Szalai vs SpVgg Greuther Fürth(H)

The Mainz forward had a substitute appearance against Bochum as he was returning after quarantine and looked very lively and added a goal threat to the Mainz attack. His stats from the 2020-21 season are as below:

⚽ Goals: 1

🎯 Assists: 0

📈 Expected Goals (Per 90): 0.26

📊 Expected Assists (Per 90): 0.07

With ownership of 1% and a matchup against Greuther Fürth who have looked shaky defensively, he is expected to have a good game and possibly get some Fantasy points in the process.

Fantasy Bundesliga Midfielder Picks

Nadeem Amiri vs Augsburg (A)

The Leverkusen dynamic midfielder is having a good start to the Bundesliga campaign and has done well in the last match against Gladbach scoring one of their four goals. His underlying stats for the season are below:

⚽ Goals: 1

🎯 Assists: 0

📈 Expected Goals (Per 90): 0.23

📊 Expected Assists (Per 90): 0.03

With effective ownership of just 3% and a match against Augsburg who sit at 17th in the league table makes him an enticing prospect for the matchday.

Jean-Paul Boëtius vs SpVgg Greuther Fürth(H)

The Mainz midfielder was one of their best creative players last season with two goals and four assists and was linking up with the strikers from midfield. He is the pick of the Mainz attackers and his stats for the 2020-2021 season are below:

⚽ Goals: 2

🎯 Assists: 4

📈 Expected Goals (Per 90): 0.14

📊 Expected Assists (Per 90): 0.29

He is owned by 1% of the fantasy managers and a home game against the defensively weak Greuther Fürth team can be just perfect for a haul.

Florian Kainz vs VFL Bochum(H)

The FC Köln midfielder caught my eye in the opening matchday against Hertha Berlin scoring two goals and having three shots on target and was the team’s main attacking threat. His underlying stats for the season are:

⚽ Goals: 2

🎯 Assists: 0

📈 Expected Goals (Per 90): 0.39

📊 Expected Assists (Per 90): 0.18

With ownership of only 5% and an appealing home game against promoted side Bochum, it makes for a very good choice of this player in our fantasy teams.

Honourable mention: Jude Bellingham (Dortmund) vs TSG Hoffenheim (H)

Fantasy Bundesliga Defender Picks

Mitchel Bakker vs Augsburg (A)

The young attacking dutch left-back who has arrived from Paris St Germain impressed with his attacking display in the match against Gladbach, Bakker was a constant threat down the left and playing in dangerous crosses and also took shots from distance with one strike finding its way at the back of the net thanks to some assistance from Borussia keeper Yann Sommer. His underlying stats are:

⚽ Goals: 1

🎯 Assists: 1

📈 Expected Goals (Per 90): 0.05

📊 Expected Assists (Per 90): 0.07

Counterpart Jeremie Frimpong is also worth a shout as he has a similar attacking threat and also costs the same price – 7.3M.

Ramy Bensebaini vs Union Berlin (A)

The Algerian left-back had an outstanding season in the Bundesliga last year and was one of the best performers in the team. He is known to make attacking runs and provide crosses for attackers and has also taken a few penalty kicks for his team. His underlying stats are below from the 2020-21 season:

⚽ Goals: 4

🎯 Assists: 0

📈 Expected Goals (Per 90): 0.12

📊 Expected Assists (Per 90): 0.02

With ownership of 1% and a good fixture against Union Berlin, he can be a shrewd pick if Borussia are going to bounce back.

Kingsley Ehizibue vs Vs VFL Bochum(H)

The right-back from Koln has been involved in the attacking play of the team and making runs down the right flank and providing crosses for attackers His underlying stats are:

⚽ Goals: 0

🎯 Assists: 1

📈 Expected Goals (Per 90): 0.01

📊 Expected Assists (Per 90): 0.24

With a fixture against Bochum, we can expect a good return attacking as well as points for duels won along with a possible clean sheet.

Differential XI MD2

Fantasy Bundesliga Differential Picks for Matchday 2

After a high scoring Matchday 1 of Fantasy Bundesliga, in this week’s article, we look at the differential picks that you should consider for your squad in Matchday 2 which can help you gain ranks on the leaders.

Fantasy Bundesliga Forward Picks

Andrej Kramarić vs FC Union Berlin (H)

The main man for Hoffenheim with an ownership of 4% in the game is one forward worth considering a very sharp performance in MD1 with 3 assists and was involved in all of Hoffenheim’s attacking play.

Stats from the 2020-2021 season

⚽ Goals: 20

🎯 Assists: 5

📈 Expected Goals (Per 90): 0.80

📊 Expected Assists (Per 90): 1.38

🚀 Shots Per 90: 3.58

So the stats also indicate very good returns for the player and considering standalone fixtures against Union Berlin this matchday and Dortmund on matchday 3 he is a player who can take your team up fantasy ranks.

Serge Gnabry vs FC Köln (H)

This Bayern Winger is an interesting option to consider ahead of their fixture with Koln at home with him linking up with Lewandowski will be a good threat against the weak defence of FC Köln. Though he did not have any goals or assists in the first game the team was taking up positions centrally and shooting finishing the week on 21 shots which was second only to Stuttgart’s 32 shots against Greuther Fürth.

Stats from the 2020-2021 season

⚽ Goals: 10

🎯 Assists: 2

📈 Expected Goals (Per 90): 0.40

📊 Expected Assists (Per 90): 0.38

🚀 Shots Per 90: 3.21

The stats highlight Gnabry’s potential and a double up with Lewandowski could gain you an advantage over many Fantasy Managers playing the game.

Jonathan Burkardt vs Bochum (A)

The young Mainz striker has been very much involved in pre-season as a centrepiece in their plans playing off the main striker – Adam Szalai. He has already scored two goals in the DFB Pokal and had a great game against Leipzig holding the ball and creating chances.

Stats from the 2020-2021 season

⚽ Goals: 2

🎯 Assists: 0

📈 Expected GoalS: 0

📊 Expected Assists: 1.96

🚀 Shots Per 90: 1.88

Though his stats are very limited due to less number of starts with an ownership of 1% in the game and with upcoming fixtures against Bochum and Greuther Fürth make him a very promising choice to deliver a good return in fantasy.

Fantasy Bundesliga Midfielder Picks

Jean-Paul Boëtius vs Bochum (A)

The Mainz midfielder was one of their best creative players last season with two goals and four assists and was linking up with the strikers from midfield.

Stats from the 2020-2021 season

⚽ Goals: 2

🎯 Assists: 4

📈 Expected Goals (Per 90): 0.14

📊 Expected Assists (Per 90): 0.29

🚀 Shots Per 90: 1.25

He missed the first match due to quarantine and might possibly miss the second as well, but upcoming matches against promoted sides Bochum and Greuther Fürth make him a good fantasy asset if he does start. In case he doesn’t, midfielders Lee Jae-sung (OOP striker, 6M) and Paul Nebel (OOP winger, 1.1M) are also worth considering.

Masaya Okugawa vs Greuther Fürth (A)

The Japanese midfielder from Arminia was one of the brightest players in their dull 0-0 draw on matchday 1. He had two shots on target and was the main attacking threat for his side.

Stats from the 2020-2021 season

His stats do not reflect his potential as he only joined the club in the latter part of the season and played second fiddle to Doan. But this season he is in the starting 11 and with an upcoming fixture against Greuther Fürth makes him an interesting fantasy asset and Okugawa is selected by only 1% of managers.

Daichi Kamada vs FC Augsburg (A)

The Frankfurt attacking midfielder had a disappointing outing against Dortmund in the defeat as most Frankfurt players were hardly able to make an impact. He was in good form at home matches last season and his stats for the 2020-2021 season are below.

⚽ Goals: 5

🎯 Assists: 12

📈 Expected Goals (Per 90): 0.21

📊 Expected Assists (Per 90): 0.28

🚀 Shots Per 90: 1.44

He was involved in teams attacking play and along with Kostic created the most chances. With ownership of just 4% and a favourable home fixture against Augsburg, he can reward the fantasy managers who own him.

Fantasy Bundesliga Defender Picks

Moussa Niakhaté vs Bochum (A)

The Mainz centre-back was the hero in their amazing win against Leipzig scoring the winning goal and putting on an impressive defensive display and keeping André Silva in his pocket.

Stats from the 2020-2021 season

⚽ Goals: 3

🎯 Assists: 1

📈 Expected Goals (Per 90): 0.08

📊 Expected Assists (Per 90): 0.05

🚀 Shots Per 90: 0.31

He is a constant threat from free-kicks, corners and even taking the occasional penalty kick and with favourable fixtures against Bochum and Greuther Fürth he looks a solid pick with an attacking threat and at ownership of only 4%, he could be the best pick from the 05ers defence.

Stefan Lainer vs Leverkusen (A)

The attacking Austrian right-back had a decent performance against Bayern Munich and manage to set up chances for the forwards. He plays in a good Gladbach team who are known to attack via the wing and can deliver an attacking return in addition to keeping a clean sheet.

Stats from the 2020-2021 season

⚽ Goals: 2

🎯 Assists: 0

📈 Expected Goals (Per 90): 0.05

📊 Expected Assists (Per 90): 0.11

🚀 Shots Per 90: 0.73

With ownership of 4% and a stand-alone fixture at Leverkusen who only accumulated an xG of 0.79 last week, Lainer can offer both points as well as star flexibility to your Fantasy Bundesliga team.

Danilo Soares vs Mainz (H)

The Brazilian left-back for Bochum caught the eye in their match against Wolfsburg consistently making runs down the wing and crossing balls into the box, although they were playing with just 10 men.

Stats from the 2020-2021 season

⚽ Goals: 2

🎯 Assists: 2

📈 Expected Goals (Per 90): 0.07

📊 Expected Assists (Per 90): 0.07

In the game against Wolfsburg, he won 14 duels and took advanced positions on the left and along with a defensive-minded setup, he could be a shrewd pick.

Cedric Brunner vs Greuther Fürth (A)

The right-back for Arminia can be a source of good points against a shot-shy Furth team, who were poor in the first match against Stuttgart conceding five goals and 32 shots in total.

Stats from the 2020-2021 season

⚽ Goals: 0

🎯 Assists: 1

📈 Expected Goals (Per 90): 0.01

📊 Expected Assists (Per 90): 0.04

🚀 Shots Per 90: 0.21

In the game against Freiburg, Arminia looked like a solid defensive unit and Brunner put in two crosses into the box. With very low ownership and a favourable fixture, he can be a decent budget pick.
